    I find it frightening that a general impression has been created that somehow excessive public spending has been to blame at all for the crisis, that too much regulation also caused it. Ignorance and falsehoods are being repeated in the press and by politicians which allow a general mood of acceptance for cuts. There such a deep right wing hue to all the media reporting that to suggest anything different sounds extreme and has pulled the Labour way off course.
